Blue Jays | Russell Martin back in two-hole

Sun, 26 Apr 2015 07:26:06 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays C Russell Martin will bat second in the order Sunday, April 26, against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Fantasy Tip: Martin ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has a three-game hit-streak going with a run scored and an RBI in each of his last two games. Martin hit his third home run of the season Saturday, and he'll be a decent option with the opportunity for an extra at-bat while at the top of the order.

Blue Jays | Russell Martin sitting vs. Rays

Fri, 24 Apr 2015 13:04:00 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays C Russell Martin is not in the starting lineup against the Tampa Bay Rays Friday, April 24. C Josh Thole is batting ninth and will catch SP R.A. Dickey Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to remove Martin ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) from your lineups Friday. While his batting average (.159) leaves a lot to be desired, his counting starts are impressive, as Martin has already scored nine runs, hit two home runs and drove in nine runs. When in the lineup, Martin is a nice source of cap relief for FantasyScore players. Thole is a defensive-first catcher and career .204 hitter against left-handed pitchers. Avoid him in daily contests Friday.

Blue Jays | Russell Martin not playing

Wed, 15 Apr 2015 12:52:25 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays C Russell Martin is not in the starting lineup against the Tampa Bay Rays Wednesday, April 15. C Dioner Navarro will be the starting catcher for the game.

Fantasy Tip: Navarro ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has picked up a hit in all four games he has played this season and has recorded four RBI in that span. Navarro could be a starting option for owners on FantasyScore.

Blue Jays | Russell Martin sitting Friday

Fri, 10 Apr 2015 09:22:42 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays C Russell Martin is not in the starting lineup against Baltimore Orioles SP Bud Norris Friday, April 10. C Dioner Navarro is receiving the start behind the dish and is batting sixth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Navarro ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) becomes a cheap option behind the plate at FantasyScore, and he's worth considering in the powerful Toronto lineup if you'd like to save money for the rest of your roster.

Toronto Blue Jays DH/C Dioner Navarro has drawn trade interest from teams, presumably because of the signing of C Russell Martin. If Navarro is not moved, he would still be a backup to Martin and a DH.
