Kathleen Gray, of the Detroit Free Press, reports former Detroit Lions S Bennie Blades was arrested for missing a Jan. 7 hearing in a state child support case against him and is scheduled to appear in court Monday, March 14, on the charge. Blades, whose career ended in 1997, has been the target of an investigation by the state Attorney General's Office involving nonpayment of nearly $300,000 in child support to the mother of a 13-year-old girl. Blades had settled the child support case with the mother in August, agreeing to pay $160,000 from his NFL pension fund and monthly child support payments. The NFL is still processing the payment from Blades' pension.
