Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis said he wants to start interviewing head coaching candidates starting early next week. Davis has been clear that he's going to be involved in the hiring process this time around. Last time, general manager Reggie McKenzie was in charge of hiring Dennis Allen. Interim coach Tony Sparano will be one of the candidates.

Oakland Raiders interim head coach Tony Sparano got the endorsement of QB Derek Carr as the team's head coach. "Yeah, we love him," Carr said. "He's our leader. Absolutely. We love him. Obviously, those decisions are going to happen, and we have no control in that. Those decisions will be made, and whoever is here is who we'll play for. "But right now, coach Sparano is my leader. I love him 100 percent. He genuinely cares about me. He's pulled me into his office just to ask how I'm doing. … Those kind of things from a head coach mean so much."

Oakland Raiders offensive line coach Tony Sparano said he is excited to work with RB Darren McFadden. When Sparano was head coach of the Miami Dolphins, his quarterbacks coach was David Lee. Lee had been an offensive coordinator at Arkansas when McFadden was running the wildcat package. "They were running McFadden and Felix (Jones) and that group of guys and doing some different things with them so, I don't want to say that word," Sparano said of the wildcat.
