Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd will get chance to earn immediate playing time, according to new offensive coordinator Ken Zampese.
"He struck me as a guy that can play slot early, and learn the outside spot and be productive out there as we go. He's played a lot of slot. He's very familiar with where the bodies are coming from down in there. And he's got good vision, football IQ and instincts to avoid and get up field," Zampese said.
Fantasy Tip: It should be probably be considered a disappointment if all Boyd does this season is serve as the primary slot receiver. With only Brandon LaFell serving as legitimate competition, the second-round rookie from Pittsburgh should be a regular starter in Cincy by midseason. Boyd won't threaten the targets of A.J. Green or Tyler Eifert, but he should be considered the favorite to inherit the numbers left behind by Marvin Jones.

However, they don't want to push Dalton out of the starting role, so they are unlikely to use early draft picks on a QB. Bengals quarterbacks coach Ken Zampese will take a look at North Carolina State QB Mike Glennon, Florida State QB EJ Manuel, Arkansas QB Tyler Wilson, Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib and University of Miami QB Zac Dysert this week. Glennon has been receiving the most praise from evaluators, and they believe he might be in the best position to succeed immediately in the NFL.
