Kevin Goheen, of the Cincinnati Post, reports Cincinnati Bengals rookie WR Ethan Kilmer is expected to contribute on special teams. "If you're not a starter on this team, (head coach) Marvin (Lewis) has made it perfectly clear that you'd better be effective in the kicking game," said Cincinnati Bengals special reams coordinator Darrin Simmons. "Not just to make the team but, more importantly, to get on the 45-man active roster. That's the important part.

Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals special teams coach Darrin Simmons will be looking for some improvement in the Friday, Aug. 19, preseason game against the Washington Redskins. "We've got to make the biggest improvement between Week 1 and Week 2 of the preseason," said Simmons. "The one thing I can say is I feel a lot better coming out of the first preseason game than I did the last two years."
