The Miami Dolphins hired former NFL head coach Mike Sherman as their offensive coordinator Friday, Jan. 27. Cincinnati Bengals secondary coach Kevin Coyle was also hired as their new defensive coordinator.

Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland said the team is considering transitioning to a 4-3 defense next season, and the team currently has the personnel to make such a change successful. Cincinnati Bengals defensive backs coach Kevin Coyle is a leading candidate to become the team's next defensive coordinator. Cincinnati used a 4-3 defense this year. Coyle will interview for the job next week. LB Cameron Wake would play defensive end if the team switched to a 4-3 defensive alignment, with DL Randy Starks likely moving to tackle.

Bill Rabinowitz, of the Columbus Dispatch, reports Cincinnati Bengals CB Keiwan Ratliff wants to make an impact this season. "We asked a lot of Keiwan," Cincinnati Bengals defensive backs coach Kevin Coyle said. "Because of his versatility and flexibility, we had to utilize him in a lot of different areas. He actually played both corner spots, in the nickel and dime packages and both safety spots at different times during the season. He had a lot on his plate and never got a chance to settle in." He has worked hard this offseason to learn every position so he can go out and play without thinking twice.
