Air Force head coach Troy Calhoun removed his name from consideration for the Denver Broncos head coach position Tuesday, Dec. 7, reports Lindsay Jones, of The Denver Post. As a result, Calhoun received a raise from Air Force.

John McClain, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans offensive coordinator Troy Calhoun has been named the new head coach at Air Force. Calhoun will remain with the Texans for the remainder of the season.

John McClain, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak will call some plays, but will share the duty with offensive coordinator Troy Calhoun at times. Kubiak said, "Troy's my eyes upstairs. Anything that comes from up there goes through me. There may be a segment where I'm calling the whole thing, or there may be a segment where I say, 'Troy, you take it this series, or you take it the whole game.'" Kubiak said assistant head coach Mike Sherman will get a chance to call plays as well.

Calhoun will become the quarterbacks coach and could possibly be named the offensive coordinator.
