The Associated Press reports former New England Patriots DE Chris Sullivan was sentenced to two years' probation after pleading guilty to heroin possession and reckless driving. Sullivan, a reserve defensive end on the Patriots' 2001 Super Bowl championship team, had 12 grams of heroin when police stopped his car in January. He faces up to six months in prison if he violates the terms of his probation. Sullivan was released from a rehabilitation clinic in New Hampshire earlier this month after three months of substance abuse treatment.

The Associated Press reports New England Patriots DE Chris Sullivan was arrested for drunken driving Sunday night. Police said they found Sullivan in a parking lot after someone reported hearing a crash. Sullivan was arraigned Monday for charges of DUI.

The Post Gazette reports Pittsburgh Steelers DE Chris Sullivan was placed on IR by the team and not released as previously announced by the team. He likely will be released once his injured wrist, which underwent surgery three weeks ago, heals. The team also activated FB Dan Kreider from the PUP List and he is expected to practice on Monday. FB Jon Witman (back) will also return to practice on Monday.

The Post Gazette reports Pittsburgh Steelers CB DeShea Townsend appeared to have injured his foot at the end of practice today. He went down after WR Troy Edwards caught a pass over him. He had ice on the foot after practice, but he was not allowed to comment on the injury. Coach Bill Cowher said CB DeWayne Washington (concussion) is doubtful for the Detroit game. QB Kordell Stewart had ice around his right calf after practice. DE Chris Sullivan (left forearm) was going to see a doctor before leaving the team's practice facility. QB Tee Martin is not coming back until Thursday as he is attending his grandmother's funeral.

The Post-Gazette reports five Pittsburgh Steelers players sat out the team's afternoon practice on Monday with a variety of injuries. RB Jerome Bettis (tooth capped), WR Plaxico Burress (back spasms), CB Dewayne Washington (back spasms) and backup DE Chris Sullivan (groin) all missed the afternoon practice. In addition, FB Jon Witman (back), who had just returned to practice on Sunday, felt his back tighten and left practice.
