Tue, 26 Jul 2005 11:33:00 -0700 The Associated Press reports former New England Patriots DE Chris Sullivan was sentenced to two years' probation after pleading guilty to heroin possession and reckless driving. Sullivan, a reserve defensive end on the Patriots' 2001 Super Bowl championship team, had 12 grams of heroin when police stopped his car in January. He faces up to six months in prison if he violates the terms of his probation. Sullivan was released from a rehabilitation clinic in New Hampshire earlier this month after three months of substance abuse treatment.

He likely will be released once his injured wrist, which underwent surgery three weeks ago, heals. The team also activated FB Dan Kreider from the PUP List and he is expected to practice on Monday. FB Jon Witman (back) will also return to practice on Monday.
