Cardinals | DEs like potential in new scheme

Wed, 22 May 2013 10:33:15 -0700

Arizona Cardinals DEs Calais Campbell and Darnell Dockett have expressed optimism over their potential in Todd Bowles' defense. Though the coordinator said there isn't a dramatic difference in the new 3-4, which replaces Ray Horton's from last year, they're changing from two-gap DE attacks to one-gap, opening them up for more outside attacks on offensive linemen instead of merely taking up space.

Fantasy Tip: Campbell and Dockett won't be allowed to freelance on every down but look primed to improve statistically, especially if Dockett stays healthy this year. Campbell is a top-five, if not top-three, defensive end in IDP leagues and could be in for a breakout season. Dockett could be a rental in such formats. This defense could become worthy of an every-week-starter role.
