Former NFL head coach Eric Mangini said he regrets turning in the New England Patriots back in 2007 over their videotaping scandal. "If there is a decision I could take back, it's easily that decision," Mangini said. "Never in a million years would I have wanted it to go this way. It's disappointing whenever it comes up. It's regret, it's disappointment, it's all of those things. Because I know what it took to win those Super Bowls, and I have so much respect for the people that were involved there. I'm disappointed that this is what it's translated into."

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has been talking with former NFL head coach Eric Mangini on a regular basis to get Mangini's opinion on the Dolphins. However, Mangini would not be a candidate to become an interim head coach if head coach Tony Sparano were fired during the season and Mangini would not be a candidate if the team made a head coaching change during the offseason.

Updating previous reports, Eric Mangini, former head coach of the Cleveland Browns, is a candidate for the Tennessee Titans' defensive coordinator position, reports Jim Wyatt, of The Tennessean. However, the two sides have not discussed a contract thus far. It appears the Titans will take their time to make a decision. Head coach Jeff Fisher, according to sources, is expected to talk to a number of candidates during the coming week. Jim Mora Jr., Clancy Pendergast (University of California), and Gregg Williams (currently with the New Orleans Saints) could be options, or the team could look to promote assistant head coach Dave McGinnis to defensive coordinator. There is also a situation that could see Fisher handling the defensive play calling himself.

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross was scheduled to meet with former Cleveland Browns head coach Eric Mangini but the meeting has been canceled, sources told Jeff Darlington, of The Miami Herald. Dolphins sources said Ross did not want to interview Mangini for their head coaching job but did want pick his brain because of his familiarity with the AFC East.
