It's regret, it's disappointment, it's all of those things. Because I know what it took to win those Super Bowls, and I have so much respect for the people that were involved there. However, Mangini would not be a candidate to become an interim head coach if head coach Tony Sparano were fired during the season and Mangini would not be a candidate if the team made a head coaching change during the offseason.

However, the two sides have not discussed a contract thus far. It appears the Titans will take their time to make a decision. Head coach Jeff Fisher, according to sources, is expected to talk to a number of candidates during the coming week. Jim Mora Jr., Clancy Pendergast (University of California), and Gregg Williams (currently with the New Orleans Saints) could be options, or the team could look to promote assistant head coach Dave McGinnis to defensive coordinator. There is also a situation that could see Fisher handling the defensive play calling himself.
