Cowboys | RB Coach Lynn Returns to Sidelines

Updating a previous report, Jennifer Floyd Engel, of the Forth Worth Star-Telegram, reports Dallas Cowboys running backs coach Anthony Lynn (face, legs) returned to his duties last week after being the victim of a hit-and-run automobile accident. According to police officials, a drunk driver was traveling 40 M.P.H. over the speed limit struck Lynn, who was hurled 45 feet into the air, suffering a broken nose and multiple lacerations. Lynn, who did not suffer any major injuries, was released from the hospital and is grateful to be alive. "Coach Parcells did not want me back until next week," Lynn said. "But sitting at home or laying in the hospital bed, I just wanted to get up and get back around the fellas and take my mind off what happened and get back to my job and football."

Todd Archer, of the Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys running backs coach Anthony Lynn suffered a broken nose and facial lacerations after being struck by an automobile Saturday night, Aug. 20, in Ventura, Calif. Lynn will have surgery on his nose today before returning to Dallas. It's not clear when he'll resume his coaching duties. Volunteer assistant Lewis Tillman will fill Lynn's role until his return.

Erin Bolen, of DallasCowboys.com, reports Dallas Cowboys running backs coach Anthony Lynn doesn't like to "over-coach" his running backs, a style that has drawn praise from several of his players. "He just wants what every other coach wants, but he goes about it a little better," RB Erik Bickerstaff said. "He's trying to do it a different way, which is good." Said Lynn of his system, "Sometimes I think, of any position on offense, one position you can over-coach is the running backs," Lynn said. "So I really focus on the blocking technique part, the assignment part, the adjustments in the game, and just overall approach to the game."

Lynn had served as the running backs coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars before being demoted to assistant special teams coach this off-season.
