The Detroit Lions hired defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni, offensive line coach Jeff Davidson, quarterbacks coach George Godsey , linebackers coach Al Golden, defensive backs coach Brian Stewart, tight ends coach Chris White and director of football research David Corrao Wednesday, Feb. 7.

Lions | Detroit to hire three new coaches

Former Denver Broncos offensive line coach Jeff Davidson and former University of Houston defensive coordinator Brian Stewart are expected to be hired by the Detroit Lions. Davidson will serve as the offensive line coach and Stewart's role will be as defensive backs coach. Additionally, assistant coach George Godsey will move to quarterbacks coach.

Tim McMahon, of The Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Brian Stewart is confident that LB Zach Thomas will take care of business for the team. "Zach Thomas gives us a guy that's been a leader, so he's going to go in there and be confident," Stewart said. "Because he's been a leader before, he's going to make sure he does whatever he can to stay ahead of the curve, know what's going on and understand our defense so he can maintain leadership qualities."

Mac Engel, of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, reports Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Brian Stewart thinks the team's defense should be the best in the league. "I feel it should be the best defense in the NFL. Everybody has to stay healthy and everybody has to play to their capabilities. But, that happens, we should be the best defense in the NFL," Stewart said.
