The Providence Journal reports CB Terrell Buckley was indeed amongst the New England Patriots inactive players on Sunday. There has been speculation he was suspended by the team for the game, but there has been no further word from the team on the subject. His spot as an extra cornerback was taken by Terrance Shaw and Leonard Myers. DB Antwan Harris (sprained ankle), OL Adrian Klemm (leg), OL Kenyatta Jones and S T.J. Turner also were inactive along with WR Terry Glenn (hamstring) and rookie DL Richard Seymour (leg).

John Clayton of ESPN reports the New England Patriots aren't commenting on published reports CB Terrell Buckley was being suspended for an altercation with an assistant coach. Clayton said it may be until gametime Sunday before the word of his status gets out. One indication would be if rookie CB Leonard Myers moves ahead of Buckley as the team's third cornerback.

Paul Kenyon reports for the Providence Journal the New England Patriots may have lost starting RG Joe Andruzzi for an extended period of time. He was injured in the first half when Miami DL Jermaine Haley rolled into his leg. Andruzzi had his leg in a brace when the game was over. LB Tedy Bruschi injured his leg and did not play the final period, but he seemed to be walking aorund all right after the game. DE Willie McGinest (leg pain) was inactive again for the game. Starting FS Matt Stevens (knee injury) and rookie CB Leonard Myers (flu) also were unable to play.

According to John Clayton of ESPN, New England Patriots LB Bryan Cox (flu) returned to practice on Friday. He said he would have to be dead to not play against the Dolphins. Nickel CB Leonard Myers, who has the flu, is likely not to play on Sunday. RB J.R. Redmond (ankle), S Matt Stevens (knee) and LB T.J. Turner (knee) didn't practice Friday and remain questionable but probably won't play.

The New York Times reports it obtained a copy of a New York Giants internal memo which discussed pre-draft visits the Giants were hosting last week. Six of the nine players invited were among the draft's top cornerbacks. One was a tight end and two were quarterbacks. There is continued speculation the Giants are looking to draft a corner to play opposite Jason Sehorn and in place of Dave Thomas. The memo also shows the team may want to improve at backup quarterback as well, probably using later-round picks. Those on the Giants list were: QBs Sage Rosenfels (Iowa St.) and Jesse Palmer (Florida), TE Arthur Love (South Carolina St.), CBs Leonard Myers (Miami), Nate Clements (Ohio St.) Brock Williams (Notre Dame), Jamar Fletcher (Wisconsin), Will Allen (Syracuse) and Willie Middlebrooks (Minnesota). The memo said the Jets had an interest in Middlebrooks too.

The Miami Herald reports free agent CB Terrell Buckley (Broncos) visited Miami Dolphins camp again on Monday. Coach Dave Wannstedt said the team is willing to sign Buckley, if he's willing to be a backup. WR Lamar Thomas also worked out with the Dolphins on Monday as he attempts another comeback. Thomas said he understands if the Dolphins don't re-sign him, but thought the workout went well. Also working out on Monday were several NFL draft prospects including Florida State WR Marvin "Snoop" Minnis and CB Clevan Thomas and four University of Miami prospects: S Al Blades, RB James Jackson, DB Delvin Brown and CB Leonard Myers. More prospects will visit Wednesday and Thursday.
