Updating a previous item, The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports Minnesota Twins IF Matt Macri cleared waivers and was sent to Triple-A Rochester.

The Associated Press reports Minnesota Twins IF Matt Macri has been designated for assignment for purposes of removing him from the 40-man roster. The team has 10 days to decide what it wishes to do with Macri.

Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Thor Nystrom, of MLB.com, reports Minnesota Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said he will decide who will start at third base on a day-by-day basis. He will choose between 3B Mike Lamb, IF Matt Macri and 3B Brian Buscher. Gardenhire said that the decision would be predicated on statistics and who is swinging well at the time.
