Rick Stroud, of the St. Petersburg Times, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB Barrett Ruud said one of the areas he can improve on is his blitzing. "I have a lot of things I want to work on this year. I wasn't real happy with the way I blitzed last year. That's one thing you can work on individually; using your hands, trying to be a little more creative. Obviously, we're going to incorporate more of the matchup coverage, but you just can't do it every play," Ruud said.

Jim Flynn, of PewterReport.com, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers restricted free-agent LB Barrett Ruud said he would like to receive a long-term contract but looks at his one-year tender offer like he gets a year to prove he deserves a long-term deal. "I approach this as a one-year, prove-it deal," said Ruud. "That's kind of what it is. You can say what you want, but the facts are I got a one-year tender, so that's how I'm approaching it."

The Tampa Tribune reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mark Bradley, WR Brian Clark, LB Matt McCoy, OT Donald Penn, LB Barrett Ruud, WR Maurice Stovall and OT Jeremy Trueblood could become restricted free agents this offseason if 2010 is an uncapped year. They would become unrestricted free agents if a new collective bargaining agreement is reached prior to March.
