The Associated Press reports after the surprising release of SS Lawyer Milloy, the effort to fill the gap intensified on Wednesday, Sept. 3 in the New England Patriots' second practice without him. Patriots Ss Antwan Harris, Chris Akins, Aric Morris and Je'Rod Cherry all could take Milloy's spot, although Patriots head coach Bill Belichick didn't say who would start for the Sunday, Sept. 7 season opener against the Buffalo Bills. ''I think Chris and Antwan will probably get a good number of snaps this week, but Aric will also get some work there,'' Belichick said.

Patriots.com reports the New England Patriots added LB Ted Johnson to their injury report as questionable after he hurt his knee in Wednesday's practice. Head Coach Bill Belichick said it would take a day or two to determine the extent of the injury. S Je'Rod Cherry and LB Matt Chatham both had leg muscles tighten up during practice and both were added to the inury report as probable.

According to their official site, Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid addressed the media after the game on the team's injuries from today's game. As reported earlier, RB Darnell Autry is the most serious injury. He has an ankle sprain with the possibility of a high ankle sprain. The coach indicated Autry may be fitted with a cast, but the ankle is not broken as far as the team knows. DT Corey Simon had a lower back bruise but played through it. DB Je'Rod Cherry had a finger dislocation but also continued to play. WR Charles Johnson had a laceration on his lip that caused him to leave the game.
