Nick Canepa, of The San Diego Union-Tribune, reports San Diego Chargers WR Vincent Jackson is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2009 season. However, if the NFL is not able to complete a new CBA, he would become a restricted free-agent in an uncapped year.

Brent Schrotenboer, of The San Diego Union-Tribune, reports San Diego Chargers WR Vincent Jackson had his request for evidence to be suppressed denied by a San Diego Superior Court judge Thursday, June 11. Jackson's attorney, Cole Casey, plans to appeal the ruling. Casey said he hopes this ends up in the federal court, because they believe Jackson's Fourth Amendment rights were violated through an unreasonable search and seizure. Casey has argued Jackson was forced to have blood drawn against his will after being arrested Jan. 6 on suspicion of drunken driving.

Brent Schrotenboer, of The San Diego Union-Tribune, reports San Diego Chargers WR Vincent Jackson has asked the court to suppress evidence obtained during his Jan. 6 arrest on suspicion of drunken driving. Jackson's attorney said Jackson was forced to have blood drawn against his will after repeatedly requesting a breath test. His blood-alcohol content measured 0.17 percent, according to court records. If the motion carries, the blood test results would be suppressed. He pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor DUI charges, and his next court date is scheduled for June.

Jackson was not required to appear in San Diego Superior Court for his arraignment and did not. Instead, his attorney entered the plea by fax.

The North County Times reports San Diego Chargers WR Vincent Jackson's arrest on suspicion of drunken driving is still in process. Jackson submitted to a blood test and the results are pending. The case has not been turned over to prosecutors to file any charges because the police report is not yet complete. Jackson, in a statement, said he does not think any charges will be filed against him. This incident will not affect Jackson's chances of playing against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Chargers said they are monitoring his case.
