ProFootballWeekly.com reports it's too early to tell whether Oakland Raiders LB Kirk Morrison, a restricted free agent, will return with the team in 2010, according to head coach Tom Cable. "He's proven that he can (get the job done), and the question is: 'Are you where you want to be with all of these guys?' Not just Kirk," Cable said. "To single anyone out right now, it's probably way, way too early to do that. It's still a matter of seeing where we're at as a team and what's available to us as we try to get better."

The Associated Press reports Oakland Raiders LB Jon Alston, OT Khalif Barnes, LB Ricky Brown, QB Charlie Frye, LB Thomas Howard, LB Kirk Morrison and CB Stanford Routt could be restricted free agents this offseason if 2010 is an uncapped year.

Bill Williamson, of ESPN.com, reports Oakland Raiders players were motivated for their Week 6 game after comments made by New York Giants LB Antonio Pierce following Week 5. Pierce said playing the Raiders was like a scrimmage. "I'm not going to lie, it was noticed by us," LB Kirk Morrison said. "We talked about it. We don't want people saying that stuff about us. We all agreed that we were not playing with confidence and it was time to wake up. Those comments really got us going ... Antonio did us a favor by saying those things."
