The Tennessee Titans' offensive line was a patchwork group in Week 14 against the Indianapolis Colts and it showed in the running game. RB Chris Johnson could only manage 44 yards rushing on 19 carries, and his longest gain was just eight yards. OLT Michael Roos was the only starter remaining from the line when training camp began.
Johnson has been held to less than 52 yards rushing in back-to-back games after having 80 yards or more rushing in the previous six contests. Offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains said the team tried to stay with the running game as long as they could, but noted their 2.3 yards per carry was frustrating. Johnson did well enough to put him over the 1,000-yard mark, as he now has 1,037 yards rushing on the year. He said he doesn't want to make excuses and the team just needs to work hard to improve.
