New Orleans Saints RBs Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles have been receiving most of the carries with the first-team offense over the past three weeks. Thomas has been receiving most of the carries while Sproles has been doing different things depending on the play. RB Mark Ingram has been working mostly with the second-team offense during workouts. It appears the team will use the hot hand during games this season and not stick with one running back.
Fantasy Tip: Sproles likely will have the most fantasy value among the team's running backs because of his ability to produce in the running and passing game. Sproles should be considered a No. 1 running back especially in point-per-reception leagues because of his receiving abilities. Thomas and Ingram should be backup running backs on fantasy teams that could be flex option in some weeks.

But, you know, the main goal is to win games and stay healthy and be out there on the field on Sundays." Ingram said he is fine with sharing carries with Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles.

New Orleans Saints RB Darren Sproles (hand) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 16, and is listed as questionable for Week 11. Interim head coach Joe Vitt said Sproles is still experiencing some swelling in his hand.
Fantasy Tip: The Saints have no reason to rush Sproles back if he's not fully healthy. Pierre Thomas, Mark Ingram and Chris Ivory have all combined to perform admirably in his absence. All three are tough to bank on, but their matchup with the Raiders will give them more intrigue for another week if Sproles doesn't suit up. Thomas is the safest option of the three.

"But I think as long as I'm doing the right things and get a plus on the plays that I get, I think that just helps me out and allows them to give that much more trust in me."

New Orleans Saints interim head coach Joe Vitt said losing RB Darren Sproles (hand) for an undetermined amount of time with a hand injury will open the door for some of the team's other running backs to receive more reps and showcase what they're capable of doing. RBs Chris Ivory or rookie Travaris Cadet could see increased work along with that of Pierre Thomas and Mark Ingram.
Cadet has played special teams so far this season, appearing in four games. Ivory has been active for just two games this season, but has proven in the past he can fill in admirably when his number is called. Cadet noted if his number is called, he'll do his best to step up and help the team.

Fantasy Tip: Expect Sproles to miss at least several weeks with his broken hand. Pierre Thomas and Mark Ingram's value increases in Sproles' absence. Thomas is a more capable receiver than Ingram, and he'll receive more of an uptick in value - especially in PPR leagues. Drew Brees could check down to Jimmy Graham more without the security blanket of Sproles as well.

He's a complete running back. Certainly, we're going to have to know where he is at all times." Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio added, "I can't believe they got him for the cheap price that they got him for replacing Reggie Bush. I think if it was the NBA, the commissioner might have stepped in and stopped that move."
