|Eagles | Darren Sproles working in slot|
Sat, 08 Aug 2015 08:52:36 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles has received some snaps at slot receiver during training camp, because the team is looking for ways to give him more playing time. Sproles was on the field for only 29% of the team's offensive snaps last season.
Fantasy Tip: Sproles would receive a boost in his fantasy value if he becomes more involved in the passing game, but owners should see how he is used during the preseason. Sproles probably will have more value in point-per-reception leagues, but he could still be a late-round option in many leagues.

|Eagles | Mark Sanchez holding workouts|
Fri, 10 Jul 2015 09:40:16 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles QB Mark Sanchez is hosting workouts in San Diego with teammates. RB Darren Sproles, RB Ryan Mathews, WR Jordan Matthews, QB Matt Barkley, QB/WR G.J. Kinne, WR Quron Pratt, WR Rasheed Bailey, WR Seyi Ajirotutu and TE Andrew Gleichert were in attendance.
Fantasy Tip: Sanchez is likely to take a backseat once Sam Bradford returns to health, but he's not going to make it easy. Sanchez doesn't have as much upside as Bradford, but he'd be a midrange QB2 if he is able to nab the starting job.

|Saints | C.J. Spiller a good fit in New Orleans?|
Sun, 28 Jun 2015 17:52:44 -0700
New Orleans Saints RB C.J. Spiller has a perfect skill-set for head coach Sean Payton's system, which relies on getting the ball to players in space, according Chris Wesseling of NFL.com. Wesseling believes Spiller is significantly more talented than RB Reggie Bush and RB Darren Sproles, who both thrived in Payton's system.
Fantasy Tip: Pass-catching backs like Spiller have enjoyed a lot of success in Payton's system. He has a good chance to slide into RB2 territory in PPR formats, and he should make a solid flex option in standard leagues.

|Eagles | Darren Sproles working as WR|
Fri, 19 Jun 2015 18:26:27 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles has worked with the wide receivers as much as the running backs during the offseason as part of a plan by head coach Chip Kelly to have him more involved in the offense.
Fantasy Tip: Sproles' days of being a RB1 in PPR formats are long gone, but he could end up being a useful flex option in 2015. However, there are a lot of mouths to feed in Philadelphia, so don't draft Sproles to be an every-week starter.

|Eagles | More targets for Darren Sproles?|
Sat, 30 May 2015 05:37:39 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles practiced with the first-, second-, and third-team offenses during team and seven-on-seven drills Thursday, May 28. He also has the opportunity to be featured more in the passing game, according to head coach Chip Kelly.
Fantasy Tip: Sproles was horribly inconsistent last season, especially in the second half of the season. He was a weekly high-risk start in traditional formats, and was even a letdown in PPR formats, which were formerly his forte. After all, he only topped five receptions in two games all season. With DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews now also in the mix for touches, Sproles should be viewed as nothing more than a depth running back in traditional formats and a No. 4 RB in PPR leagues.

|Eagles | Jordan Matthews to have bigger role|
Fri, 03 Apr 2015 10:52:50 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews said the team won't really have a designated No. 1 receiver in place to replace the production that will be lost with WR Jeremy Maclin signing with the Kansas City Chiefs. "People ask me about being the No. 1 wide receiver; Forget it," Matthews said. "I want us to be a receiving corps. That's what I want it to be." Matthews was the team's second leading receiver in 2014 with 67 catches for 872 yards and eight touchdowns as the slot receiver. Matthews is likely to play more in 2015 and on the outside. Head coach Chip Kelly said he sees Matthews playing "a lot of different spots." Kelly is confident in Matthews and WR Josh Huff, and TE Zach Ertz and RB Darren Sproles could be used more in the passing game.
Fantasy Tip: Matthews should be in line for more production, at least in catches and yardage in 2015. He'll have a much more gifted quarterback in Sam Bradford throwing him passes, too. In Kelly's offense, though, there's opportunity for Huff and Riley Cooper to be successful in the right matchups.

|Eagles | Chip Kelly favors one-cut runners|
Wed, 25 Mar 2015 06:58:57 -0700
The Philadelphia Eagles traded RB LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills because head coach Chip Kelly desires a one-cut running back, according to Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie. Lurie praised McCoy as a player, but the move was not financially driven. Kelly felt he could garner more production from a different running back or two. Lurie used the term "power spread" on multiple occasions to describe Kelly's offense. RBs DeMarco Murray, Darren Sproles and Ryan Mathews figure to share the work.
Fantasy Tip: Murray was one of the best players in fantasy last season, but there's almost no way he can repeat that kind of performance with two other legit backs wanting the ball. With Sproles an elite receiver from the RB position, Murray may find it difficult to repeat his 57 receptions from a year ago. Murray still rates as a mid-to-low RB1. Sproles is a capable RB3 in PPR leagues. Mathews' role is a little cloudy, but he is likely a low-end RB3 for now.

|Eagles | Another score for Darren Sproles|
Sun, 23 Nov 2014 14:01:54 -0800
Fantasy Tip: Sproles has reached paydirt three times in the past five games on the ground, and he has picked up the pace with 10 receptions in the past four outings. He is still seeing less than 10 touches per game, but FantasyScore owners are still getting nice value using him as a flex play.

|Eagles | Mark Sanchez excels on Monday night|
Tue, 11 Nov 2014 08:58:23 -0800
Philadelphia Eagles QB Mark Sanchez threw for 332 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 10 win over the Carolina Panthers Monday, Nov. 10, in his first start since Dec. 30, 2012. WR Jordan Matthews had 138 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and RB Darren Sproles had an eight-yard touchdown run and a 65-yard punt return for a touchdown.
Fantasy Tip: Sanchez didn't look the the quarterback that we all came to know when he was with the New York Jets. Perhaps he can excel in the long run in Chip Kelly's system. Regardless, he should be a popular waiver wire acquisition this week, and he could put up a similar performance in Week 11 against the Green Bay Packers.
