Coleman and Jarrett are still considered the favorites for the job opposite FS Nate Allen, with Atogwe serving in a backup role and as a veteran mentor.

Philadelphia Eagles SS Oshiomogho Atogwe, who received no up-front money to sign with the team this offseason, is scheduled to make the league minimum base of $825,000 this year, which means he is likely to have a reduced role. He'll provide depth behind Ss Kurt Coleman, Nate Allen and Jaiquawn Jarrett. Atogwe has only $100,000 in fully guaranteed money, but he can make up to $100,000 in roster bonuses ($6,250 per game) and $225,000 in incentives. His deal is worth $1.15 million overall.

"They brought me in because they believe I can help the team be successful. I'm here to serve, so whatever capacity that is, whether it's playing, whether it's running down on kickoffs. Washington Redskins SS Oshiomogho Atogwe battled hamstring, knee and toe injuries in 2011, and defensive coordinator Jim Haslett is uncertain what kind of recovery the veteran player will make. The Washington Redskins could consider releasing SS Oshiomogho Atogwe this offseason because he is scheduled to count $4 million against the salary cap next season and lost his starting job this season. Atogwe was limited with injuries this season but did play better near the end of the season.
