Washington Redskins head coach Jim Zorn said during his press conference at the NFL Scouting Combine Friday, Feb. 22, that it was important to hire Sherman Smith as the offensive coordinator because Smith has a strong history and experience as a running backs coach. Zorn, who has a quarterback background, felt it was important to find a strong minded running coach.
