The Oakland Raiders might need a long snapper for Week 2 if C Jon Condo (concussion) is unavailable. Two candidates might be free-agents C David Binn (Chargers) and C Lonie Paxton (Broncos). Dan Pires, of the New Bedford Standard-Times, reports New England Patriots placed LS Lonie Paxton (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday, Dec. 9, after injuring his knee on Sunday, Dec. 7. Published reports have previously said Paxton may have torn his anterior cruciate ligament in a collision with teammate Matt Chatham on a fourth quarter punt. There was some debate whether the creator of the famous Snow Bowl 'snow angel' in 2001 could play with a brace, but the decision was ultimately made to end his season. Paxton has snapped for every punt, extra-point attempt and field goal attempt in the regular season since joining the team in April 2000 as a rookie free agent.
