Patriots.com reports the team has signed G Drew Inzer, the only player to spend the entire season on New England's five-man practice squad, DT Maurice Anderson, OL Tom Ashworth, DE Setema Gali and WR Scott McCready were all re-signed. Also brought back were LB Maugaula Tuitele, who played one game for New England in each of the last two seasons, and LS Ryan Benjamin, who was with the team briefly during training camp. Also signed, G Mike Clare, CB Cecil Deckard, C Patrick Downey, DE Radell Lockhart and S Mark Washington.

The AP reports the Chicago Bears officially re-signed QB Shane Matthews earlier today. The team also waived long snapper Ryan Benjamin. Matthews was released last week so the team could sign Benjamin as an emergency replacement for the injured Patrick Mannelly in Sunday's game against Arizona. Matthews agreed to the switch to help the team since he was going to be the No, 3 QB anyway Sunday.

As expected, the Chicago Tribune reports the Chicago Bears re-signed were in the process of re-signing QB Shane Matthews on Monday. He was on hand Monday for the annual team picture. For his two days of practice and eight snaps Sunday, long snapper Ryan Benjamin, signed in place of Matthews, was paid $11,600.
