The Cincinnati Bengals waived DL Jimmy Verdon Friday, April 11. Verdon joined the team as a free agent in 2007 but suffered a knee injury in NFL Europa that sidelined him for the entire 2007 season.

Jimmy Smith, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports New Orleans Saints DE Jimmy Verdon, was arrested and jailed by Kenner, La., police Sunday morning, March 19, and charged with three misdemeanors, including battery on a police officer with injury, Kenner police said Friday, March 24. Verdon was discovered by Kenner police at about 8:45 a.m. sleeping or unconscious in front of a Winn-Dixie supermarket in the 4000 block of Williams Boulevard, according to police spokesman Capt. James Gallagher. "He appeared to have been drinking," Gallagher said. One of the officers involved in the arrest suffered a sprained wrist, Gallagher said, but returned to duty after being checked at a hospital. The team said they were aware of the matter.
