Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports the St. Louis Rams were reportedly denied permission by the Miami Dolphins to speak with Dolphins assistant head coach-wide receivers coach Charlie Baggett. As a result, Henry Ellard could be retained as wide receivers coach.

Jeff Darlington, of the Palm Beach Post, reports Miami Dolphins wide receivers coach Charlie Baggett is a potential candidate to take over as offensive coordinator for the team. Current offensive coordinator Scott Linehan is expected to be named the St. Louis Rams head coach this week.

Jason Cole, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins wide receivers coach Charlie Baggett could go with offensive coordinator Scott Linehan to the St. Louis Rams if Linehan is hired to fill the Rams head coaching vacancy. Previous reports have Linehan as the favorite to win the job and could be offered the position sometime this week.

Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban announced the team has hired Charlie Baggett as their new wide receivers coach. Baggett had served the same role with the Minnesota Vikings last season.

Bob McGinn, of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, reports the Green Bay Packers will likely retain the services of wide receivers coach Ray Sherman as it appears the Miami Dolphins are poised to hire Charlie Baggett to fill that role. Sherman had been one of the candidates for the position.

It is believed he is the top choice to become the team's receivers coach. He coached with Miami head coach Nick Saban at Michigan State from 1995 to '98.
