Thu, 17 Oct 2002 20:21:48 -0700 Kevin Seifert reports for the Star Tribune Minnesota Vikings WR Derrick Alexander does not know where he fits in on the team's depth chart. Coach Mike Tice said he has not officially determined whether Alexander or D'Wayne Bates will start Sunday against the Jets. Earlier he had said he was leaning to Bates. Tice also did not say whether the loser of that competition will play in three-receiver sets ahead of WR Chris Walsh. Based on this week's practice, Alexander said: "I feel like they've kind of already made their decision, and put D'Wayne in front of me." Asked if he was concerned he could get buried on the depth chart, Alexander said: "It could happen. I've seen it happen before." Alexander said he knows he's a better player then he has shown so far.

Mon, 22 Apr 2002 23:11:21 -0700 The Star Tribune reports Minnesota Vikings QB Daunte Culpepper was on the field Monday for the team's voluntary three-day development camp at Winter Park. Culpepper put his recovery at 90 percent, but said he does not have much further to go. The 52 players who participated in the workout also included WR Randy Moss and all the other veterans likely to start this season. Moss, D'Wayne Bates and Chris Walsh were the Vikings top receivers Monday.
