Bill Williamson, of the Pioneer Press, reports Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said WR D'Wayne Bates is very close to reclaiming his position as the team's No. 2 receiver from WR Nate Burleson. "I thought Nate did some good things," Linehan said. "The thing about D'Wayne, you really can't replace the experience that he has. We've kind of missed that a little bit." Bates, who is still recovering from a bruised foot, said it is close to 100 percent and feels better than it has in a month.

Burleson said he assumes that he goes back to the No. 3 WR job, which he doesn't mind because that position plays so much anyway.
