Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said the race for the team's middle linebacker job is wide open among second-round draft pick LB Bobby Wagner and veteran LBs Matt McCoy and Barrett Ruud. Wagner will be given every chance to win the job as Carroll would love to get his speed on the field. "But he's got to do it," Carroll said. "He's got a long ways to go before he can take that on."

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said LB Matt McCoy (knee) will be out a extended amount of time because of a significant knee sprain he suffered in Week 4. Carroll said he likely will not need surgery on the knee.
