Updating a previous item, the Seattle Seahawks re-signed CB Marcus Trufant to a one-year deal Monday, April 9. It's unlikely he'll regain his starting gig after the emergence of CBs Brandon Browner and Richard Sherman. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll credited general manager John Schneider for finding players like undrafted WR Doug Baldwin, CFL import CB Brandon Browner and backup QB Charlie Whitehurst, who contributed to the win in Week 5. "It's wholly John Schneider," Carroll said. "Finding guys for us. He was the first guy to mention Charlie's name. He was the first guy to be so over the top about (Baldwin). He brought (Browner's) name to me. He never rests on the opportunity to make this team better, and I think he deserves all the credit."
