Mon, 28 Mar 2005 19:04:17 -0800

N.C. State OT Chris Colmer says a crippling illness that sidelined him for the entire 2003 season in college is a thing of the past and will not hinder him in the NFL, reports Zac Jackson of ClevelandBrowns.com. A week into preseason practice in Aug. 2003, Colmer began feeling unusual pains in his left shoulder. When he also began experiencing numbness in the shoulder, he sat out of practice and consulted team doctors. Colmer was diagnosed with Parsonage Turner Syndrome and sidelined indefinitely. He was granted a medical redshirt year, making him a rare sixth-year player last fall. He returned and started every game for the Wolf Pack in 2004. "There's no question I was rusty last season," Colmer said. "Now, there's no doubt I'm back on track." Colmer is thought to be a mid-round prospect in April's draft.
