The Cleveland Browns placed TE E. Alex Smith (shoulder) and LB Titus Brown (knee) on the Injured Reserve Tuesday, Dec. 20. Smith will not need surgery for a "significant" shoulder injury. Brown will undergo surgery on his knee. The team signed free-agent TE Dan Gronkowski (Patriots) and promoted LB Brian Smith to the active roster.

Seattle Seahawks DL Red Bryant said Wednesday, Oct. 26, that he was fined for headbutting Cleveland Browns TE E. Alex Smith in the final moments of the Week 7 game. He was flagged for a personal foul and ejected. He would not disclose how much the fine was for, but said it was a "costly mistake."

"I like to just think I can do a little bit of everything," Smith said. "I don't try and hone in on one specific skill. I feel like I've improved in my run blocking over the years. Before I was all about catching."
