Steelers | Heath Miller back to full health

Tue, 17 Jun 2014 10:25:43 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (knee) has looked completely healthy in the team's offseason workouts this year, according to QB Ben Roethlisberger. "(It's) huge, the way he has looked. He has looked healthy right from the get-go, looks kind of like the old Heath. One of the practices, he caught a pass about 12 yards downfield and made a move and actually made a guy miss and he finished all the way down the field. That was the Heath Miller we love to see," Roethlisberger said.

Fantasy Tip: Miller is coming off a down year in which he scored only one touchdown, but his January knee surgery likely played a big role in his limited productivity. Pittsburgh's offense in 2014 could be much improved, so expect a bounce-back from Miller as a low-end TE1 or high-end backup.

Steelers | Heath Miller limited

Wed, 16 Oct 2013 14:53:33 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (non-injury) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Miller is one of Ben Roethlisberger's favorite targets underneath, and he can perform as a low-end TE1 in many weeks. In Week 7, his matchup against the Baltimore Ravens is very tempting; the Ravens have been pretty vulnerable to opposing tight ends this year.

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (knee) won't be restricted in the team's Week 4 game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Tip: Miller looked good in his season debut in Week 3, and he's a great safety valve for Ben Roethlisberger. Miller should be owned in most leagues as a decent backup TE.

Steelers | Heath Miller ready to play

Fri, 20 Sep 2013 12:03:15 -0700

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (knee) has practiced in full three straight days and says he's ready to return to action in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears, but the decision will be up to the coaching staff. "Whenever I'm ready to play I think it's unrealistic to think I'm going to come back in midseason form," said Miller, who caught 71 passes for a career-high 816 yards before shredding his knee in the 15th game last season. "I've had some positive days this week so we'll evaluate how I felt, how the coaches think I looked, and I'm sure they'll make a decision based on that."

Fantasy Tip: Miller isn't a lock to play, so obviously he's a risky choice to put into your starting lineup. Even if he does play, he's unlikely to see a large amount of snaps. Bench him for now.

Steelers | Heath Miller expected to play

Fri, 20 Sep 2013 10:29:17 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (knee) will make his season debut in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears.

Fantasy Tip: This is good news for the Steelers. Ben Roethlisberger surely will become more productive in the passing game. However, this week's matchup isn't a good one and Miller likely will be eased back in, so don't expect much.

Steelers | Heath Miller practices in full

Wed, 18 Sep 2013 15:02:26 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (knee) practiced in full Wednesday, Sept. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Miller could very well be back this weekend against the Chicago Bears, but we wouldn't advise starting him until next weekend, when it's much more realistic that he may return. Pick him up if you're in need of a TE; Ben Roethlisberger will likely rely heavily on Miller with the team lacking a strong running game.

Steelers | Heath Miller could play this week

Tue, 17 Sep 2013 10:56:29 -0700

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (knee) could return to play against the Chicago Bears in Week 3. He is scheduled to fully practice this week after being limited last week. Miller has been a trusted target for QB Ben Roethlisberger in the past and could go a long way in helping the team fix their offensive struggles. Miller had a 71 catches for a career-high 816 yards last season before being injured. The team's tight ends have only four catches and 50 yards in two games this year.

Steelers | Heath Miller expected to practice

Tue, 17 Sep 2013 09:19:07 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said he expects TE Heath Miller (knee) to be a full participant in practice this week.

Fantasy Tip: Miller is worth adding to your roster if you are looking to add TE depth, but keep in mind that he may need some time to get back up to game speed. Miller is one of Ben Roethlisberger's favorite targets, and with the disappointment at running back, Big Ben may look Miller's way more often than ever.

Steelers | Le'Veon Bell, Heath Miller unlikely to return

Tue, 10 Sep 2013 13:18:30 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) and TE Heath Miller (knee) are unlikely to return in Week 2 to face the Cincinnati Bengals. Miller will return to practice this week, but it's believed that he's still dealing with swelling in his knee some days. Head coach Mike Tomlin has yet to update Bell's status.

Fantasy Tip: Miller can be left to the waiver wire in most leagues until he returns. Once he does and if he's fully healthy, he could make for nice TE depth. Bell needs to be held onto, as he could return as early as Week 3 and take over as the main ball carrier.
