Wed, 22 May 2013 12:24:18 -0700 Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (knee) said he is happy with the progress he has made in his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament but is not sure when he will be able to return. He said he has started to run as part of his rehab. He believes there is a chance he can be ready for the start of the regular season but will know more when training camp begins. Fantasy Tip: Miller's fantasy value is uncertain at this time because of his recovery. Owners should consider Miller a weak No. 2 tight end option because of the injury as well as the team's inconsistent offense.
Sun, 05 May 2013 09:44:15 -0700 Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said TE Heath Miller (knee) is on schedule in his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Fantasy Tip: There is question as to whether Miller will be ready for the start of the 2013 season because he suffered injury late in the 2012 season. Matt Spaeth likely will be the starter if Miller is not ready for the season. Spaeth should not be on the radar for any fantasy owners.
Mon, 04 Feb 2013 12:03:41 -0800 The Pittsburgh Steelers will make wide receiver a top priority in this year's draft with TE Heath Miller (knee) injured and WRs Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders both similar receivers that won't strike fear in opposing secondaries due to their lack of threat on the deep routes. California WR Keenan Allen may be a target, as he's considered a top-15 pick. Tennessee WR Cordarrelle Patterson is another prospect expected to be taken in the first round, but he's not as polished as Allen and lacks top-end speed.
Sun, 03 Feb 2013 10:21:53 -0800 Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (knee) will allow his damaged posterior cruciate ligament to heal on its own and will not need surgery. Miller did have surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament. The Steelers are not sure when Miller will be able to return.
Wed, 26 Dec 2012 12:46:42 -0800 Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (knee) is scheduled to undergo surgery Thursday, Dec. 27, to repair his torn anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament. Miller said his posterior cruciate ligament was also damaged.
Wed, 26 Dec 2012 08:48:51 -0800 The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Wednesday, Dec. 26, they have placed TE Heath Miller (knee), CB Ike Taylor (ankle) and RB Baron Batch (arm) on Injured Reserve.
Mon, 24 Dec 2012 09:54:47 -0800 Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (knee) will require surgery after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament injury in Week 16. Miller possibly suffered a partial posterior cruciate ligament injury as well. "Unfortunately his season comes to an end," head coach Mike Tomlin said. "He has been rock solid for us and we really appreciate his efforts. We understand injuries are a part of the game, but unfortunately it brings his season to a close."
Sun, 23 Dec 2012 19:05:44 -0800 Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (knee) suffered a posterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament injury in his right knee during the Week 16 game against the Cincinnati Browns. He isn't expected to play in the regular season finale against the Cleveland Browns, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.
Sun, 23 Dec 2012 13:07:28 -0800 Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (knee) left the game early Week 16 because of a knee injury and will not return.
Mon, 17 Dec 2012 05:31:28 -0800 Although Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger placed blame on himself for the team's Week 15 loss, he also questioned the playcalling. When asked why TE Heath Miller didn't have a single pass thrown his way in the second half, Roethlisberger replied, "I just don't think we called the right plays to get him the ball." And when asked why the team didn't run more no-huddle offense in the second half, Roethlisberger acknowledged he wished they had done more. "That's tough for me to answer right now," Roethlisberger said. "The second half we didn't do much of it, and that's disappointing."
