Cincinnati Reds 3B Jack Hannahan (shoulder) played catch Monday, April 28. "It's been feeling good," said Hannahan, who had a torn labrum repaired. "A lot better this go-around than the last go-around. I'm up to two sessions at 110 feet and it's feeling pretty good." There is no timetable for him to go on a rehab assignment.

Cincinnati Reds 3B Jack Hannahan (shoulder) has been able to hit in games but can't throw effectively on a consistent basis. Hannahan has yet to throw across a diamond from third to first base in a game. "He's done it in practice," manager Bryan Price said. "I don't want to say tentative, but it's certainly not at game speed. It might be a day on, a day off or two days on, a day off. He's not throwing every day."

Cincinnati Reds 3B Jack Hannahan (shoulder) underwent an MRI exam after last season that revealed a torn labrum in his shoulder. Hannahan underwent surgery done by Dr. Tim Kremchek. "It was something he had to battle for the bulk of last year," said manager Bryan Price. "He is going through the rehab process -- taking his swings, taking ground balls. So he is building up the throwing portion of his recovery. That's typically the biggest challenge in shoulder surgery rehab."

Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker said Sunday, Jan. 13, that he still hasn't heard from 3B Scott Rolen since before Christmas. Rolen has yet to inform the team whether he wants to play or retire. "It's getting late," Baker said. "Life goes on and business goes on. Since we signed (3B Jack Hannahan), it's getting crowded. Plus, (3B Todd Frazier) deserves a chance to play."
