Bills | Sammy Watkins to see more action

Fri, 16 Sep 2016 14:23:27 -0700

Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins is "a special talent" and the team will "try to get him the football more" going forward, according to head coach Rex Ryan.

Fantasy Tip: Watkins' foot needs to cooperate first. The fourth overall pick has been underutilized far too often throughout his two-plus year stay in Buffalo and seen his fair share of double teams recently. Expect new play-caller Anthony Lynn to use bunch formations and motion to get Watkins in more favorable situations. Regardless, he's a WR2 at best until he can get closer to 100 percent.

Bills | Front office forced Greg Roman's ouster

Fri, 16 Sep 2016 13:15:00 -0700

Updating a previous report, the Buffalo Bills' front office "leaned" on head coach Rex Ryan to make a significant change in the wake of the team's 37-31 loss in Week 2 to the New York Jets, leading to the dismissal of former offensive coordinator Greg Roman on Friday, Sept. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Obviously, Ryan was not going to part with his brother, Rob, for the shortcomings of the defense, so he turned to Roman instead. New offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn should be expected to maintain the same run-heavy philosophy Roman employed, but the Bills are facing an uphill battle if they hope to avoid a winless September with the Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots next on the schedule.

Bills | Dezmin Lewis turns heads in minicamp

Mon, 20 Jun 2016 22:10:26 -0700

Buffalo Bills WR Dezmin Lewis impressed during minicamp, and drew the raves from head coach Rex Ryan, who said Lewis "consistently has done a great job."

Fantasy Tip: Lewis is down the depth chart, but he has the potential to move up into a meaningful role. For now he is not worth drafting in most fantasy leagues, but with a strong training camp and preseason, and perhaps an injury or two, he could have fantasy appeal.

Bills | Rex Ryan not afraid to gamble in the draft

Sun, 28 Feb 2016 16:58:06 -0800

Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan said he isn't afraid to draft players with off-the-field red flags. "First off, I don't think any of us would be here without a second chance," Ryan said. "Certainly, that weighs into it. But you also want to know, is this a problem that's going to be persistent or has been persistent in the young man's life? You have to weigh those things obviously. It's a huge investment that you make as a franchise."

Bills | Doug Whaley on good terms with Bills

Tue, 29 Dec 2015 10:04:19 -0800

Buffalo Bills general manager Doug Whaley, head coach Rex Ryan and owners Terry and Kim Pegula are on good terms, contrary to reports that surfaced last week. "Ownership has been great. My relationship with Rex Ryan is something that I cherish," Whaley said. "I wake up every day happy to come in and work with him. My future, ownership doesn't have to tell me anything. I've always attacked my job with the mindset of let me do my job not to lose it, but to keep it and keep getting better. So until the ownership tells me I'm here for the long haul and get this team where we need to go."

Bills | Buffalo willing to run a lot

Sat, 21 Mar 2015 10:45:44 -0700

Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan said the team would prefer to be a running team next season. "We prefer to ground and pound it, we're going to run it 50 times if we can on you," Ryan said. Ryan said he knows the offense has to be balance, which is why the team signed TE Charles Clay and WR Percy Harvin this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: LeSean McCoy should see plenty of carries under Ryan and offensive coordinator Greg Roman. McCoy did see his rushing yards and touchdowns drop this past season, but he should still be an option in first rounds of drafts next season.
