Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said he's "95 percent sure" that 1B Miguel Cabrera and DH Victor Martinez will hit third and fourth, respectively, this season but that he is "not solid on anyone anywhere" else in the batting order.

Detroit Tigers 2B Ian Kinsler ripped Texas Rangers general manager Jon Daniels in a recent interview for ESPN The Magazine. "Daniels is a sleazeball," Kinsler said. "He got in good with the owners and straight pushed Ryan out. He thought all the things he should get credit for, Ryan got credit for. It's just ego. Once we went to the World Series, everybody's ego got huge, except for Nolan's."

The Detroit Tigers plan to be much more aggressive on the base paths this year after adding 2B Ian Kinsler and OF Rajai Davis. "We wanted more speed, but if you look at last year's team, we had very few places where we could just add speed to the order," general manager Dave Dombrowski said. We had to find a way and the Prince trade set everything into motion. We'll be faster this year."

Detroit Tigers 2B Ian Kinsler is weighing around 10 to 15 pounds less this spring because he doesn't have to worry about dropping weight in the Texas heat this summer, and he wants to regain his speed to take advantage of Comerica Park's spacious outfield. He spent extra time this offseason working on his leads and stealing bases.
