Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said he's "95 percent sure" that 1B Miguel Cabrera and DH Victor Martinez will hit third and fourth, respectively, this season but that he is "not solid on anyone anywhere" else in the batting order.
Fantasy Tip: Watch to see how the lineup arrangement will affect the run and RBI totals of hitters like Ian Kinsler, Torii Hunter and Austin Jackson. Drafters will have to adjust their expectations based on their slots.

Detroit Tigers 2B Ian Kinsler ripped Texas Rangers general manager Jon Daniels in a recent interview for ESPN The Magazine. "Daniels is a sleazeball," Kinsler said. "He got in good with the owners and straight pushed Ryan out. He thought all the things he should get credit for, Ryan got credit for. It's just ego. Once we went to the World Series, everybody's ego got huge, except for Nolan's."

The Detroit Tigers plan to be much more aggressive on the base paths this year after adding 2B Ian Kinsler and OF Rajai Davis. "We wanted more speed, but if you look at last year's team, we had very few places where we could just add speed to the order," general manager Dave Dombrowski said. We had to find a way and the Prince trade set everything into motion. We'll be faster this year."

Detroit Tigers 2B Ian Kinsler is weighing around 10 to 15 pounds less this spring because he doesn't have to worry about dropping weight in the Texas heat this summer, and he wants to regain his speed to take advantage of Comerica Park's spacious outfield. He spent extra time this offseason working on his leads and stealing bases.

The Toronto Blue Jays tried to trade for Detroit Tigers 2B Ian Kinsler this offseason, but Kinsler decided to use his no-trade clause to block the trade. Kinsler was traded to the Tigers during the offseason.

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder will be the team's primary first baseman, and the team is still trying to determine 1B Mitch Moreland's role. SS Jurickson Profar can now move to second base full time with 2B Ian Kinsler gone. Manager Ron Washington hasn't decided on where Fielder will hit in the lineup yet, but he wants to leave 3B Adrian Beltre in the cleanup spot.

Updating a previous report, the Detroit Tigers trade 1B Prince Fielder and $30 million to the Texas Rangers for 2B Ian Kinsler. Fielder is still owed $138 million over seven years, so the Tigers will help pay some of the remaining deal.

The Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers have agreed on a trade which sends 1B Prince Fielder to the Rangers for 2B Ian Kinsler, pending a physical, CBSSports.com learned Wednesday, Nov. 20. There might be another player involved in the deal, but that has not been confirmed. Fielder has a $214 million contract, and it is uncertain if any cash will be changing hands to help the Rangers pay that contract. Fielder has a limited no-trade clause that includes the Rangers, but it is believed he is willing to accept the deal.
Fantasy Tip: Fielder and Kinsler remain must-start fantasy options, but Kinsler might slip ever so slightly moving to a more spacious ballpark for half of his games. Jurickson Profar will be a regular in the lineup in Arlington, and he might even be a little bit overvalued by fantasy owners with a clear path. Still, he is worth a roster spot in most fantasy formats because he is a middle infielder with a ton of upside.
Miguel Cabrera or perhaps even Victor Martinez presumably will take over at first base, although it is possible the Tigers could still make additional moves to shore up the position. Nick Castellanos could also find a more regular role now, either at third base or as the designated hitter.

The Texas Rangers are considering trading 2B Ian Kinsler or SS Elvis Andrus in order to make room in the middle infield for SS Jurickson Profar, according to major league sources. Kinsler could also make a position switch to first base, but he's also seemingly easier to deal. Kinsler is owed $57 million over the next four years and has a $10 million option or $5 million buyout in 2018. Andrus is guaranteed $126,475,000 over the next nine seasons.
