Packers | GB starters will sit Saturday

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 16:13:48 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and the rest of Green Bay's starters will not play Saturday, Aug. 29, versus the Philadelphia Eagles, according to QB Matt Blanchard.

Fantasy Tip: The Packers have already paid for playing their starters after losing Jordy Nelson last week. The backups will have a chance to get more repetitions in and prove they deserve a spot on the team. This has no impact on fantasy value for the starters.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers could sit rest of preseason

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 23:48:20 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers could sit out the rest of the preseason as a precaution.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers is arguably the top quarterback in fantasy and will be taken early in drafts.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers may be limited Saturday

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 14:45:33 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers could see limited snaps during the third preseason game Saturday, Aug. 29, and there is a chance he could sit out the entire game.

Fantasy Tip: The Packers will be missing a few offensive linemen in the game, so the team may want to keep Rodgers out of the game to keep him healthy. Rodgers should be one of the first few quarterbacks selected in all drafts this season.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers had great chemistry with Jordy Nelson

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 16:12:47 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers' passer rating when targeting WR Jordy Nelson in the last four seasons has been 150.2, 130.3, 111.6 and 128.2, according to Pro Football Focus.

Fantasy Tip: The Packers receiving corps is still pretty deep, but losing a receiver of Nelson's caliber for the year is a big blow, and it'll likely drop Rodgers behind Andrew Luck as the top-rated fantasy quarterback. Randall Cobb remains a WR1 and should benefit from more targets, while Davante Adams is now a legitimate WR3 for fantasy squads.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers banged up

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 10:23:24 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (hand, wrist) suffered injuries to his right hand and wrist during the second preseason game Sunday, Aug. 23, and did not return. Head coach Mike McCarthy said Rodgers could have continued playing if it was a regular season game.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers could sit out a few practices but should be fine for the regular season. Rodgers' value will take a little hit because of the injury to Jordy Nelson, but he should still be one of the first quarterbacks selected since he has other weapons to work with on offense.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers feels like old self

Thu, 20 Aug 2015 17:01:30 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers said he's back to playing the way he likes to play after dealing with a calf injury last season. Rodgers said that means extending plays and getting rid of the football when he needs to. The prolific quarterback added that if he has the chance to improve a play from outside the pocket, then he's not afraid to do that. Rodgers said he's kept his body in shape and improved his endurance in order to be more ready for longer-lasting plays throughout games.

Fantasy Tip: When Rodgers is in good shape and able to extend plays, it's bad news for opposing defenses and for those facing Rodgers' owners. Rodgers and Andrew Luck are widely considered to be the two top fantasy quarterbacks this season. You can't go wrong with either one as the No. 1 overall quarterback.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers expects to play Thursday

Tue, 11 Aug 2015 15:20:46 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers expects to play at least a little bit Thursday, Aug. 13, against the New England Patriots. Rodgers said he doesn't believe the No. 1 offense needs a whole lot of in-game work to get ready for the regular season.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers has sat out both the first and final preseason games in the past, so his top priority this year will be to stay healthy through the preseason. It will be interesting to see if rookie WR Ty Montgomery gets much work with Rodgers, and what he'll be able to accomplish if he does.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers being aggressive in practice

Fri, 07 Aug 2015 10:43:13 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has thrown five interceptions already in training camp practices, but four of those five picks have come when targeting first- or second-year receivers. Rodgers believes testing his receivers in practice gives him a better idea of what he can and cannot do with them during the regular season. Rodgers owns the best touchdown-to-interception ratio in NFL history.

Fantasy Tip: With a veteran like Rodgers, you should know not to place any weight on the amount of interceptions he throws in training camp. He remains an elite NFL quarterback and a surefire QB1 for fantasy owners.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers will not be limited

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 11:36:24 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers will not be limited during training camp even though he has dealt with injuries over the last few seasons, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. "We're not counting throws all the time, and it's not a concern as it will be when he's later in his career," McCarthy said. "I mean, he's still very physically fit and so I don't feel like I need to protect him because of any type of elbow or shoulder issue, thing like that. But we just work through it, communicate and see where he's at every day." McCarthy said Rodgers' playing time in the preseason will not change.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers is entering training camp healthy and has a terrific group of wide receivers to work with this season. Rodgers should be one of the first quarterbacks taken in most drafts this season.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers and others excused early

Thu, 18 Jun 2015 15:39:51 -0700

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and any Packer with at least six years of experience were excused early from practice Thursday, June 18. Head coach Mike McCarthy said he was pleased with the output they had given and that those who were excused early were still involved with the strength and conditioning and meetings portions of practice.

Fantasy Tip: This isn't too big of a deal, especially on the last day of minicamp. Rodgers and the rest of the veterans should be ready to go once training camp begins in late July. Consider him a top-three fantasy quarterback in 2015.
