Packers | Aaron Rodgers still dealing with pain

Sat, 17 Jan 2015 10:41:39 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) said his calf injury was painful the entire game last weekend against the Dallas Cowboys and that it was a little worse after the team's win. Rodgers admitted that it's simply of matter of dealing with the pain, adding that he's having treatment around the clock and the calf will be good Sunday.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers ($8,600, 17.2) still showed he can succeed even when he's not at 100 percent, throwing for 316 yards and three touchdowns against Dallas. The fact remains that he could be a risky option for FantasyScore lineups, however. He'll be playing in one of the most hostile environments against one of the stingiest pass defenses in the NFL.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers was limited in practice

Fri, 16 Jan 2015 13:02:59 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf), who is listed as probable for the NFC Championship game against the Seattle Seahawks Sunday, Jan. 18, was limited in practice Friday, Jan. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers ($8,600, 17.2% of cap) has been feeling a bit better, but there's no doubt that his calf injury will affect him in the big game Sunday. For that reason, you should be skeptical of using him at FantasyScore against such a great defense in the Seahawks.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers probable

Fri, 16 Jan 2015 10:57:14 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) is listed as probable for the team's NFC Championship game.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers will play in the NFC Championship game and will cost $8,600 (17.20% of cap) in FantasyScore this week. He is a risky option due to the injury, and a bad matchup against a great Seattle Seahawks defense.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers will play in NFC Championship game, but he will cost $8,600 (17.20% of cap) in FantasyScore this week. He is a risky option because of the injury, and because he is playing a good Seattle defense.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers not practicing

Wed, 14 Jan 2015 10:36:55 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Jan. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers probably will not practice much this week because of his calf injury but should be able to play in the NFC Championship game. Rodgers is a risky option on FantasyScore at $8,600 because of the injury and that he will be facing a tough Seattle Seahawks pass defense.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers still bothered by calf

Tue, 13 Jan 2015 13:30:33 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) is still being bothered by his left calf injury Tuesday, Jan. 13. "It was worse than when I started the game," Rodgers said. "But yeah, it's doing OK. Probably, I think a lot of people are tired of it. I'm tired of talking about it, but it is what it is."

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers will play against the Seattle Seahawks this weekend, but he's likely to be severely limited in his scrambling abilities for the second straight week. At a high FantasyScore price going up against one of the league's best overall defenses, it's a risky proposition.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers not afraid of Richard Sherman

Tue, 13 Jan 2015 13:26:32 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers said he's not afraid to throw in the direction of Seattle Seahawks CB Richard Sherman, despite not going Sherman's way once in the two teams' matchup in Week 1. "You have to be aware of him," Rodgers said. "Not scared of him, but you have a ton of respect for him." WR Jordy Nelson was kept opposite of Sherman in Week 1, and Sherman never switched sides of the field. Sherman wound up covering WRs Jarrett Boykin or Davante Adams.

Fantasy Tip: The bigger issue for Rodgers against the Seahawks this weekend will be the health of his left calf, which severely limited his mobility in the divisional round win. If Rodgers once again has trouble escaping the pocket, it could be a rough day for him against one of the best overall defenses in the league.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers feeling better

Mon, 12 Jan 2015 13:06:28 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) is feeling better than he did at this point last week, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers ($8,900) is going up against the best pass defense in the NFL in arguably the most hostile environment in the NFL. It's encouraging that he's feeling better, but it might be best to go with one of the other three quarterbacks for your FantasyScore lineups this week.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers expects to be limited

Sun, 11 Jan 2015 19:15:29 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) said he doesn't expect to be fully healthy for next weekend's conference title game against the Seattle Seahawks, but he said he will play in the game.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers was limited to just 189 yards and one score against Seattle in Week 1 when he wasn't playing on one leg. Fantasy owners may want to limit their expectations for Rodgers this weekend.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers shines despite injury

Sun, 11 Jan 2015 13:38:41 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) threw for 316 yards and three scores in a 26-21 win over the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional-round playoff game Sunday, Jan. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers was clearly favoring his injured calf, but even on one leg, he was able to shred the Dallas secondary. However, he could have a tough time repeating the performance next weekend when the Packers take on a Seattle team that held Rodgers to just 189 yards and one touchdown in Week 1.

Packers | Packers to have all quarterbacks active

Sun, 11 Jan 2015 07:08:02 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf), QB Matt Flynn and QB Scott Tolzien will all be active for the Divisional Round playoff game because of Rodgers' injury.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers is expected to be the starting quarterback for the game, but the team wants to be prepared in case the injury forces Rodgers out of the game. Rodgers costs $8,900 on FantasyScore and is a risky option since he could be limited by the calf injury.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers' calf won't alter offense

Fri, 09 Jan 2015 13:58:50 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers' (calf) calf injury will not alter the team's offense game plan for the Divisional Round playoff game, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers may be limited during the game because of his injury, and the team may use the shotgun formation more in hopes of reducing Rodgers' movement in the pocket. Rodgers is a risky option on FantasyScore at $8,900, and owners may want to consider using a healthier option at quarterback.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers listed as probable

Fri, 09 Jan 2015 10:30:21 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) is listed as probable for the divisional round game against the Dallas Cowboys Sunday, Jan. 11. Head coach Mike McCarthy said Rodgers is moving around fine.

Fantasy Tip: The Packers aren't practicing Friday, but either way, Rodgers ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) will play against the Cowboys. He's unlikely to be close to 100% healthy, raising plenty of questions for FantasyScore players, especially since Rodgers is the third most expensive player this weekend.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers to see more blitzes?

Fri, 09 Jan 2015 09:50:54 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) could see more blitzes from the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round game Sunday, Jan. 11, in order for the Cowboys to test Rodgers' mobility. Rodgers has been one of the best quarterbacks against the blitz since 2008, with the highest total QBR (76.2) when opponents send five or more pass rushers, according to ESPN Stats & Information. Rodgers has 91 career touchdowns and just 18 interceptions against the blitz. Dallas, however, blitzed on just 23.7% of opponents' dropbacks this year, so it would represent a change in strategy for them.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) and the Packers are sure to have a gameplan in place to get the ball out of his hands quickly, regardless of whether the Cowboys bring more pressure. Either way you slice it, Rodgers is a pretty decent-sized risk at FantasyScore this weekend if his mobility is severely limited by his injury.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers limited in practice

Thu, 08 Jan 2015 11:57:57 -0800

Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) was limited in practice Thursday, Jan. 8. Rodgers took about half of the reps in the team portion of practice.

Fantasy Tip: There is no doubt Rodgers will play this weekend, and it is positive news that he was able to do some work today. Still, he is an extremely risky FantasyScore play this week, especially if he is not close to being fully healthy. Rodgers will cost $8,900 this week, but there are probably safer options available to you.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers has significant strain

Thu, 08 Jan 2015 10:45:57 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) has a slight tear and a significantly strained muscle in his calf, according to sources. However, he's still expected to play against the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round Sunday, Jan. 11, but it could impact how mobile he is on the field. "There's no question he will play, but there's also no question he will not be 100 percent," said one doctor familiar with the injury. "The question is whether he'll be 95 percent or 50 percent." The team is aggressively treating the injury, and it's uncertain how active he'll be in practice the rest of the week.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) is the third most expensive player at FantasyScore this weekend, leading you to believe he may not be worth the risk if there's a chance he's not even close to 100 percent healthy against the Cowboys. A lot will likely depend on how much he can practice these next two days.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers says he'll play

Wed, 07 Jan 2015 14:04:50 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) said there is no question that he'll play against the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round game Sunday, Jan. 11. Head coach Mike McCarthy said Rodgers could return to practice Thursday, Jan. 8. "I plan on Aaron playing Sunday," McCarthy said. "Today's schedule was for him to stay exclusively in the training room. There's still some things that he needs to work through. We'll see what tomorrow brings, if he'll be able to practice. It's day to day, but everything points in the direction of him playing."

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) is hard to pick against at FantasyScore this weekend against the Cowboys despite his injury concerns. Don't expect him to get you points with his legs, but if he doesn't have a setback during the game, he should put up respectable numbers against Dallas.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers resting Wednesday

Wed, 07 Jan 2015 13:07:13 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) stayed exclusively in the training room during practice Wednesday, Jan. 7, and he is listed as day-to-day for the divisional round game against the Dallas Cowboys Sunday, Jan. 11. Head coach Mike McCarthy still plans on Rodgers starting against the Cowboys.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) remains a risk because of his calf injury. If it's not a factor, though, he could put up solid numbers against the Cowboys defense.

Packers | GB worried about Aaron Rodgers?

Wed, 07 Jan 2015 10:56:43 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) said he's not worried about reinjuring his strained left calf in the divisional round game against the Dallas Cowboys Sunday, Jan. 11, but the team might have other reasons to be worried. "They will not know for sure regardless of how he is," said ESPN injury analyst Stephania Bell. "Even if you're completely asymptomatic and even if you go through all the motions in practice and you're fine, you're never able to replicate what you're doing across 60 minutes in a game." The team will decide how much Rodgers will practice this week after he's evaluated by a team doctor Wednesday, Jan. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) is the third most expensive player at FantasyScore this weekend. If you aren't worried at all about reinjury, then spending that much on Rodgers may be justified, as the Cowboys defense could be torn apart by Green Bay's offense.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers not worried about calf

Tue, 06 Jan 2015 13:44:40 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) said he's not worried about reinjuring his calf in the team's divisional round game against the Dallas Cowboys Sunday, Jan. 11. "That's not a concern," Rodgers said. "If it happens, it happens. At that point, it's out of my control. I've got to get myself in the best position to play and then realize whatever limitations I might have moving. Maybe I won't have any. Maybe we'll get to Sunday, and I'll feel great. Or maybe I'll be very limited. It just depends on how I'm feeling this week, and we'll adjust accordingly." A decision on how much he'll practice this week will be made Wednesday, Jan. 7, when he's re-evaluated.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) is tied for the second most expensive at FantasyScore this weekend. Aside from his injury concerns, though, the Dallas defense should present an excellent opportunity for good production from Rodgers. Consider him a strong daily play.

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) is getting better, according to head coach Mike McCarthy, and will be evaluated Wednesday, Jan. 7. He could practice before Thursday, Jan. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers will have a great matchup against a subpar Dallas Cowboys pass defense this weekend and is an excellent option at quarterback in FantasyScore lineups.

Mon, 05 Jan 2015 09:51:36 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers hasn't thrown an interception in his last 477 passes at home, including the playoffs.

Fantasy Tip: If you are willing to forget about Rodgers' recent calf woes, he should be a fine option at FantasyScore in the divisional round against the Dallas Cowboys.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers sitting out

Sat, 03 Jan 2015 09:01:12 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) is not participating in practice Saturday, Jan. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers likely will not do much during practice leading up to the Divisional Round playoff game so he can let his injured calf rest, but he should be able to play. Owners should monitor the situation to see if he suffers any setbacks, but should be a starting option on FantasyScore next week.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers slowly progressing

Fri, 02 Jan 2015 13:09:32 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) said he is slowly progressing from a calf ailment, and he thinks he's on track to start in next week's divisional playoff round. However, head coach Mike McCarthy said Rodgers isn't likely to practice until next Thursday "at the earliest."

Fantasy Tip: We'd be pretty surprised if Rodgers doesn't play in next week's playoff game. Although we don't know who Green Bay's opponent is yet, Rodgers should be in consideration for FantasyScore lineups next weekend.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers thought he had serious injury

Tue, 30 Dec 2014 13:54:52 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) thought he blew out his Achilles' when he reinjured his calf in Week 17 against the Detroit Lions. Rodgers' injury was worse than his initial calf injury, because this one was in a new spot. Rodgers returned to the game against the Lions, but he's unsure if he'll be 100 percent healthy for the Divisional Round of the playoffs Jan. 11. Rodgers has been receiving treatment "around the clock" and might not practice until next week.

Fantasy Tip: The good news is that Rodgers will have an extra week to heal up. If he's on the field in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, you have to consider him for your FantasyScore lineups, regardless of the opponent.

Rodgers was listed as probable for the game with a calf injury and had previously dealt with a hamstring strain in recent weeks. He was taken back to the locker room on a cart.

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) is listed as probable for Week 17 against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers does have a rough matchup, but he could still be worth a start on FantasyScore with the usual high-octane offense and an NFC North division title on the line.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers limited again

Thu, 25 Dec 2014 14:58:41 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 25. The Packers did not practice Thursday, so this is an estimation.

Fantasy Tip: It is highly unlikely Rodgers doesn't suit up for Week 17. While the game should be high scoring, the Lions have limited opponents. Detroit is allowing just 16.8 points against per game and 295.9 yards per game this season, which both rank as the second best marks in the league.

Wed, 24 Dec 2014 11:25:22 -0800

Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf, illness) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers may be limited the rest of the week to allow his injuries to heal but should be ready to play in Week 17. Rodgers ($5,555) should be considered a risky option this week on FantasyScore because he will be facing a Detroit Lions defense that has allowed the third fewest points to quarterback this season.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers likely will try everything he can be play in Week 17 since it affects the team's playoff position. Rodgers will be facing a tough Detroit Lions pass defense this week if he plays and could be a risky option to use on FantasyScore because of the injury and matchup.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers takes part in practice

Tue, 23 Dec 2014 13:44:51 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf, flu) continues to think he'll be ready for Week 17 against the Detroit Lions, and he said he'll be ready if the team changes the game plan because of his calf injury. Rodgers took part in practice Tuesday, Dec. 23, with the session consisting of mostly individual drills at half-speed. Rodgers looked good, but he wasn't required to run at all. "I'm feeling good, except for the sickness and the calf thing," Rodgers joked. "Other than that, I'm great."

Fantasy Tip: In what could be a very tough divisional battle against the Lions in Week 17, Rodgers may not be the best quarterback option at FantasyScore for $5,555. If he's limited from scrambling and picking up yards with his legs, that's just another reason to be skeptical of his value for this weekend.

Mon, 22 Dec 2014 15:16:21 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) was able to do some work Monday, Dec. 22, and is sore, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. McCarthy said the team will see what Rodgers will be able to do Tuesday, Dec. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers could be limited during practice this week to help rest his injury. Rodgers should be considered a No. 1 quarterback on FantasyScore, owners may want to lower their expectations since the Detroit Lions have a very good pass defense.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers dealt with flu

Mon, 22 Dec 2014 09:08:25 -0800

Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) was fighting the flu days before he pulled a calf muscle in Week 16 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. "I battled the flu the last couple of days pretty bad, and that's why I was surprised I hurt my calf because I hydrated like no other," Rodgers said. "I had a great hydration test this week and was drinking a ton of water before the game. Unfortunately the calf kind of gave up on me there." Rodgers thinks he'll be fine to play in Week 17 against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers' injury shouldn't prevent you from playing him at FantasyScore in the season finale, but the Lions defense might. Rodgers threw for under 200 yards and just one touchdown in the first matchup with Detroit earlier this year.

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) tweaked his calf in the Week 16 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but said Sunday, Dec. 21, that he expects to play in Week 17 against the Detroit Lions. "I'll be OK for next week," Rodgers said.

Fantasy Tip: While he is likely to play in the NFC North Division battle, he is still a risky play depending on the weather in Green Bay, as well as the fact he is facing a difficult passing defense from the Lions.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers has struggled at Tampa Bay

Tue, 16 Dec 2014 14:19:41 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is 0-2 with a 35.6 total quarterback rating at Tampa Bay in his career. He threw three interceptions in each of those games.

Fantasy Tip: Of course, 2014 is a completely different year and the Buccaneers have been awful this year defensively and are worse than average against the pass. Rodgers is still a viable starter on FantasyScore at $8,800 as he looks to rebound from one of his worst outings of the year in Week 15.

Packers | GB struggled with physical play

Mon, 15 Dec 2014 14:54:08 -0800

The Green Bay Packers were beaten by the Buffalo Bills in Week 15, and the Bills excelled by playing physical with the Packers receivers and disrupting the routes of WRs Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Davante Adams. The Bills had just one sack on Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and three hits, but the lack of blitzing allowed Buffalo's corners to play more aggressively on the outside. "They were physical outside with our receivers and were able to get away with it all day," Rodgers said. "We had some chances, missed on them."

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers' dud likely cost many a chance at a fantasyfootball title. If you're playing at FantasyScore, though, he has an excellent chance to bounce back and get you a win in Week 16 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their poor defense.

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers threw for 315 yards and six touchdowns in the first half of the team's Week 10 game Sunday, Nov. 9, before being pulled early in the second half.

Fantasy Tip: Facing a struggling Chicago defense, the potential for a big day was there, and Rodgers more than took advantage of the opportunity. He is one of the safest plays at any position, and he has tossed at least three touchdowns in five of his last six games.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers ($8,700) is a fine play against the Chicago Bears in Week 10. He should be very close to 100 percent by now, and after his dismantling of Chicago in their first matchup, you have to like his chances to put up big numbers again.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers does all drills

Wed, 05 Nov 2014 13:53:25 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers' injury isn't very serious, and he will play in Week 10 against the Chicago Bears, a team that he torched in their first meeting this year. He'll be expensive at FantasyScore ($8,700), though, so evaluate all of your options.

Packers | Aaron Rodgers says he's fine

Tue, 04 Nov 2014 14:30:03 -0800

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) said he's fine to play in Week 10 against the Chicago Bears. "I was on a great plan," Rodgers said. "The medical staff here gave me a seven-day plan to attack the rehab, and I stuck to it. I also added in just a little wrinkle, as well." He said his medical treatment "involves needles." Head coach Mike McCarthy said Rodgers looked good in a walk-through Monday, Nov. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Rodgers ($8,700) is the third most expensive quarterback at FantasyScore this weekend, but he might just be worth it after torching the Bears through the air earlier this year.

Tue, 04 Nov 2014 09:27:28 -0800
