The Cowboys have not contacted Jones' agent.

When reached in his private suite after the George Strait concert Saturday, June 6, to open the new Cowboys Stadium, Jones asked a reporter, "Would you beat me up too bad if I brought back Adam?" The Cowboys might be hesitant to bring back Jones because it could stunt the progress of CBs Orlando Scandrick and Mike Jenkins.

The Cowboys have saved $1 million in cap space because of the release.

Wed, 07 Jan 2009 14:26:30 -0800 ESPN.com reports "Outside the Lines" reporter John Barr contacted the NFL, the Dallas Cowboys and free-agent CB Adam Jones' (Cowboys) lawyers about a piece scheduled to air Sunday, Jan. 11, in which three men from the Atlanta area allege Jones arranged for someone to shoot at them two months after Jones was suspended in 2007. The June 2007 shooting occurred outside of a suburban Atlanta strip club. One of the shooting victims said he had a dispute with Jones inside the strip club and not long after he and the two others left the club, a hail of bullets struck the car. The NFL knew about the incident, but charges were never brought against anyone because the victims did not see the shooter. Police were told by an informant that Jones ordered the shooting after the dispute. Police have said the case remains open, but they are not actively investigating it.
