Street free agent QB Gino Guidugli (Titans) has been working extremely hard to stay ready for an opportunity to participate in an NFL training camp this summer. His regimen has included throwing to NFL veteran receivers and working with QB guru Jerry Rhome. Coach Rhome worked with Guidugli when he was not tutoring Tennessee Titans rookie QB Vince Young. Guidugli expressed his burning desire to return to camp after being waived by the Titans at the end of August in 2005. He stated "some guys whine and snivel about being waived, I decided to "dig deep" and turn a negative into a positive by working harder to improve my skills. I evaluated each aspect of my game and worked extensively skill improvement."

Patrick Finch, of TitansOnline.com, reports with the retirement of QB Jason White and no incumbent third-string quarterback on the Tennessee Titans' roster, rookie QB Gino Guidugli finds himself in a great position to become the backup to QBs Steve McNair and Billy Volek. Earlier this week, head coach Jeff Fisher said Guidugli will take the majority of the snaps against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Friday, Aug. 12, after McNair and Volek put their work in.

Teresa M. Walker, of the Associated Press, reports Tennessee Titans rookie QB Gino Guidugli is expected to battle for the third-string quarterback job during training camp. Rookie QBs Shane Boyd and Jason White will also be in the mix. Guidugli may have the toughest road of the three because he couldn't report to the Titans until he finished classes at Cincinnati. He took his final exam June 7 and flew into Nashville that night. He has been studying the offense ever since.

TitansOnline.com reports Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher says the coaching staff now as a better feel for the abilities of the team's rookie quarterbacks following the conclusion of organized team activities Thursday, June 23. "We have a better feel of what they're able to do," Fisher said. "I think once the pads go on and we give them some more opportunities at camp we will be able to separate them even more." The Titans' rookie quarterbacks are QBs Shane Boyd, Gino Guidugli, Jason White and CB/QB Marcus Randall.
