USAToday.com reports the Oakland Athletics have agreed to terms with free agent P Angel Garcia (Rays) on a minor league contract.

USAToday.com reports the Tampa Bay Devil Rays signed P Angel Garcia to a one-year deal Monday, Jan. 31. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Updating a previous item, Mark Sheldon, of MLB.com, reports 21-year-old Tampa Bay Devil Rays P Angel Garcia (elbow) pitched only 10 innings in 2004 after coming off Tommy John surgery in 2003. Garcia was acquired by the Devil Rays from the Arizona Diamondbacks earlier in December after being selected from the Minnesota Twins organization by Arizona as the first overall pick in the Rule 5 draft.
