Oakland Raiders QB Matt Leinart came on for an injured QB Carson Palmer (ribs) in the Week 16 game against the Carolina Panthers. Leinart completed 16 of his 32 passes for 115 yards and an interception in his most extensive game action since Nov. 29, 2009. Leinart said he is going to prepare for Week 17 as if he is the starter.

Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen said Sunday, Dec. 23, that QB Terrelle Pryor is still not ready to be the team's primary option should their starter go down. "(Matt Leinart is) our backup quarterback," Allen said. "Terrelle's done a nice job. He's working extremely hard. We don't feel like he's ready to be the backup quarterback just yet."
