The Kansas City Royals have announced they signed OF Adam Greenberg to a minor league contract. The 26-year-old played at Double-A Wichita last season, hitting .266 with 8 home runs, 30 doubles, 11 triples, 43 RBI, 73 runs and 23 steals in 467 at-bats.

Cubs.mlb.com reports Chicago Cubs OF Adam Greenberg (head) was to play three to five innings on Aug. 22 for Double-A West Tenn and work his way back to playing a full nine innings by week's end. Greenberg has been slowed by dizziness from being hit in the head by a pitch on July 9.

The Chicago Sun-Times' Mike Kiley reports Chicago Cubs OF Adam Greenberg (head) still hasn't recovered from being hit in the head by a pitch in his major-league debut in Florida in July. Greenberg has been returned to Mesa, Ariz., for further evaluation because vertigo continues to affect him when he plays.

The Chicago Tribune reports Chicago Cubs OF Adam Greenberg (concussion) has received medical clearance to begin playing again and will report to Double-A West Tenn. Greenberg was hit in the head by a pitch in his first major-league at-bat in Florida on July 9 and placed on the 15-day disabled list with a concussion.
