Tigers | Anibal Sanchez earns win Wednesday

Wed, 22 Jul 2015 19:45:23 -0700

Detroit Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez (10-7) allowed four runs on nine hits over 6 2/3 innings in a victory over the Seattle Mariners Wednesday, July 22, with two walks and six strikeouts.

Fantasy Tip: Despite not pitching well recently, Sanchez ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) has won eight consecutive decisions as a result of getting a great deal of run support. He will make his next start against the Tampa Bay Rays Monday, July 27.

Tigers | Anibal Sanchez on a roll

Wed, 08 Jul 2015 04:45:32 -0700

Detroit Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez pitches against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday, July 8. Sanchez is 7-7 overall but has gone 4-0 with a 2.61 ERA in his last five starts.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) has turned the ship around following a dismal start to the season. Start him in FantasyScore as long as he is on this hot streak.

Tigers | Anibal Sanchez flirts with no-hitter

Fri, 03 Jul 2015 19:06:53 -0700

Detroit Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez (7-7) carried a no-hitter into the eighth inning against the Toronto Blue Jays Friday, July 3, but OF Ezequiel Carrera's one-out single ended the bid. He ended up allowing four runs on three hits over 7 1/3 innings, with three walks and five strikeouts.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) didn't even end up with a quality start, thanks to a poor performance by the Detroit bullpen, although he still managed to be credited for the victory. He will make his next start against the Seattle Mariners next week.

Tigers | Anibal Sanchez blanks Cincinnati

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 23:04:56 -0700

Detroit Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez tossed a two-hit shutout Monday, June 15, against the Cincinnati Reds, finishing with seven strikeouts and no walks. It was his seventh-career shutout and first complete game since May 24, 2013.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez ($5,500; or 11.0% of cap) has turned a corner and appears to have re-emerged as a must-start FantasyScore option after a rough start to the season.

Tigers | Anibal Sanchez serves up another homer

Wed, 03 Jun 2015 19:53:21 -0700

Detroit Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez has allowed 13 home runs this season, including one against the Oakland Athletics Wednesday, June 3. He only allowed four homers last year and is on pace to surrender his most gopher balls since 2012, when he gave up 20 homers.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) has struggled mightily this year, posting a 3-7 record and a 5.69 ERA. Only half of his 12 outings this season have resulted in quality starts. With this type of unreliability, he should be avoided in FantasyScore.

Tigers | Anibal Sanchez gives up 11th homer

Sun, 24 May 2015 15:26:37 -0700

Detroit Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez has given up 11 home runs through the first two months of this season. Sanchez gave up 13 in the previous two seasons combined.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) has not been himself this season, as most of his owners have realized. The club says there is no injury, but clearly something isn't right. Until he figures out what is up, you may want to leave Sanchez on your bench.

Tigers | Anibal Sanchez has short outing

Tue, 19 May 2015 20:31:23 -0700

Detroit Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez allowed seven runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings against the Milwaukee Brewers Tuesday, May 19.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) has struggled at times this season and currently has a 5.60 ERA. Sanchez will face the Houston Astros in his next start and could be a risky option for owners on FantasyScore.

Tigers | Anibal Sanchez slows down Twins

Thu, 14 May 2015 13:50:50 -0700

Detroit Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez struck out nine batters over eight innings while allowing a single earned run, five hits and a walk to the Minnesota Twins during the Tigers' 13-1 victory Thursday, May 14.

Fantasy Tip: The Twins scored 44 runs over their previous six games, so Sanchez's ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) showing is that much more impressive. He has been quite inconsistent to start the season, though, and FantasyScore players should view Sanchez as a high-risk, high-reward starter until he strings a few solid outings together. His buy-low window in seasonal formats could be completely closed with another solid showing, too.

Tigers | Anibal Sanchez beats Royals again

Sun, 03 May 2015 19:20:05 -0700

Detroit Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez picked up his sixth career win in eight starts against the Kansas City Royals Sunday, May 3, allowing four hits and three runs in 7 1/3 innings while striking out four.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) entered the game with a 1.07 ERA in his previous seven starts against Kansas City, and he didn't disappoint. Although he has struggled overall out of the gate in 2015, Sanchez is still a must-start at FantasyScore whenever he takes the hill against the Royals.
