Texas Rangers OF Shin-Soo Choo (ankle) is running at 100%, although he is still experiencing some of the normal stiffness after an operation. Choo is on track to be ready for the beginning of spring training, and he is expected to play right field and bat in the middle of the Rangers' lineup.

Texas Rangers OF Shin-Soo Choo (ankle) has been medically cleared to participate in all baseball activities, with six weeks remaining before the start of spring training. He underwent surgery on his left ankle last September.

Texas Rangers general manager Jon Daniels is reportedly looking an offensive-minded player to play left field, as a result of Shin-Soo Choo shifting to right field. In-house options to play the position include 1B/OF Mitch Moreland and OF Jake Smolinski.

Texas Rangers OF Shin-Soo Choo (ankle), who underwent ankle surgery Wednesday, Sept. 17, is expected to shift from left field to right field next season, as the team is hopeful that will be less taxing physically after an injury-ravaged 2014 for Choo.

Texas Rangers OF Shin-Soo Choo (elbow) was officially placed on the 15-day disabled list with a bone spur in his left elbow. He'll undergo season-ending surgery on his arm sometime in the next two weeks. The procedure is set for Sept. 15 but could be moved up to Friday, Aug. 29, if his illness subsides by then. "By the end of October, he would be 100 percent and have a completely normal ... offseason," general manager Jon Daniels said, explaining why the last-place Rangers didn't want to wait until after the season. "We want everything, from a health standpoint, we want 100 percent for 2015." OF Michael Choice was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move.
