Texas Rangers OF Shin-soo Choo (calf) is feeling better, as he recovered from a strained right calf, but he is still at least seven to 10 days from appearing in minor-league rehab games.

Fantasy Tip: Avoid using Choo in the active fantasy lineup and DFS play until he can officially return and play a handful of games to prove his health and knock off the rust.

Texas Rangers OF Shin-Soo Choo (calf) hit soft toss and jogged on a treadmill for the first time Monday, April 25, since injuring his right calf April 9. He hopes to return sooner than the four-to-six-week timetable.

Fantasy Tip: Choo's return would make things interesting for Nomar Mazara and Ian Desmond, who should continue to see regular starts. It's still a couple weeks away, though. Keep Choo stashed in most formats.

Texas Rangers OF Shin-Soo Choo (calf) received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his calf to facilitate healing.

Fantasy Tip: Choo is expected to miss four to six weeks, so you should keep him stashed in all formats. In the meantime, outfield prospect Nomar Mazara was called up and homered and had three hits in his first MLB game Sunday. Add Mazara everywhere.

Texas Rangers OF Shin-Soo Choo (calf) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday, April 10, because of a calf injury. C Robinson Chirinos (forearm) was placed on the 60-day disabled list because of a broken forearm.

Fantasy Tip: Nomar Mazara and Bryan Holaday will see the biggest boosts in value because of the injuries. Both players should be added in all AL-only leagues, but Mazara is probably the more attractive option for mixed league owners since he should be in the lineup most of the time. Holaday could be an option for mixed league owners that start two catchers.

Texas Rangers OF Shin-Soo Choo (calf) will be sidelined for four to six weeks because of a calf injury.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation to see when Choo may be able to return to the lineup. Nomar Mazara is expected to receive most of playing time in right field until Choo returns, but Ryan Rua should also see some playing time. Mazara was off to a hot start in the minor leagues and should be added in all AL-only leagues. Mazara could also be added in deeper mixed leagues because of his playing time. Rua should see time at all of the outfield positions but is probably more valuable in AL-only leagues.

Fantasy Tip: While Choo's 20-20 days are in the rear-view mirror, his 2015 numbers were still solid across four categories, as he returned 94 runs, 22 home runs and 82 RBI with a .276/.375/.463 slash line. His high floor makes for a solid option in the middle rounds of drafts, and he is more valuable in on-base percentage formats and points leagues. Stay tuned for updates on the health front, but don't knock him down draft boards just yet.

Fantasy Tip: Choo ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) started out poorly in Texas but he closed the regular season hitting .276 with over 20 homers and 80 RBIs. He could be a sleeper heading into 2016 for people who still dismiss him as a lightweight thanks to that big free-agent deal.

Fantasy Tip: Choo ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has played very well this month with a .422 batting average, three home runs and 16 RBI. He should continue to in the starting lineup every day since the team is competing for a playoff spot and could be a solid option on FantasyScore as long as he is on a hot streak.
